How to Make Date Paste (vegan & gluten-free)
Looking for a natural sweetener that's full of nutrients? If you've ever wondered how to make date paste, this simple, 2-ingredient recipe is for you.
- 1 tightly packed cup pitted dates
- ¾ cup hot, recently boiled water (it doesn't need to be boiling)
Ensure all your dates are pitted, and add them to a medium-sized bowl.
Cover them with ¾ cup hot water and leave to soak for 15 minutes.
Transfer the dates AND water to a high speed blender and blend for about 1 minute. You may need to scrape the sides of the blender down during this time, then continue blending.
It really helps with this recipe if you turn the power up to high as soon as possible - this helps the dates break down faster and get less stuck in the bottom of the blender.
Once your dates are blended to a smooth paste, that's it!
Store your date paste in a glass jar in the fridge until ready for use. You can also freeze it.
