Taking less than 15 minutes to cook, this cherry compote recipe is a great way to use excess cherries! Enjoy it on pancakes, waffles or oatmeal, or as a topping for ice cream as an easy summer dessert.

Cut cherries in half and remove pits.

Add to pot with sugar and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat until gently bubbling and cook 12-14 minutes.

Remove from heat. Optionally stir in kirsch and almond extract.

Use to top yogurt, ice cream, pancakes, waffles or oatmeal!
